Why Colombian Roses?

Colombian roses are recognised as some of the finest roses in the world, prized by florists for their exceptional quality, consistency and impressive presentation.

One of the biggest reasons is where they're grown.

Colombia's rose farms are located high in the Andes Mountains, close to the equator. This unique combination of high altitude, consistent daylight hours and stable year-round temperatures creates ideal growing conditions that are difficult to replicate elsewhere.

These natural conditions allow the roses to develop:

Large, beautifully formed flower heads.
Strong, straight stems.
Vibrant, rich colours.
Excellent vase life.
Consistent quality throughout the year.

Because growing conditions remain relatively stable across the seasons, Colombian growers can also provide a more consistent year-round supply, giving florists greater confidence when planning weddings, events, and everyday retail.

At Heyday Blossom, we source premium Colombian roses through our pre-order model, allowing you to secure the varieties and colours your business needs with confidence.

Why Florists Choose Colombian Roses

Feature vs Benefit

⛰️ High-altitude growing | Larger flower heads and stronger stems

☀️ Close to the equator | Consistent sunlight and ideal growing conditions

🌡️ Stable year-round climate | Reliable quality and year-round availability

🌹 Premium genetics | Excellent presentation and vase life

📅 Consistent supply | Greater confidence when planning ahead

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mix different rose varieties?

Yes. You can mix multiple Colombian rose varieties and colours within the same florist-sized box, allowing you to customise your order to suit your business.

What are the available stem lengths?

Our Colombian roses are available in:

50cm
60cm

Both sizes are supplied as 4 bunches of 25 stems per box (100 stems per box).

Can I order 10-stem bunches instead?

Yes. Upon request, we can supply Colombian roses in 10-stem bunches rather than the standard 25-stem bunches.

As each box contains 100 stems, you would need to select 10 varieties and/or colours (10 bunches × 10 stems) to make up a complete florist-sized box.

This option offers even greater flexibility when you require a broader mix of varieties or colours.

Do I have to order a full box?

Yes. The minimum order is one complete florist-sized box.

Are the roses shipped in water?

No. Unlike many traditional wholesalers, we intentionally ship our roses dry rather than in water.

Dry shipping helps protect the flowers during transport and ensures they arrive in excellent condition.

Upon arrival:

Recut the stems using clean floral secateurs.
Place the roses into clean water immediately.
Leave the protective cardboard sleeve on overnight while the roses fully rehydrate.

The cardboard sleeve supports the stems during hydration, helping the roses straighten naturally and maintain their premium presentation quality.
